Lionel Messi threatens to leave Barcelona if his demands are not met
Lionel Messi has every right to be dejected and fed up of Barcelona, and he has now posted an ultimatum in front of the club after persistent problems.
Barcelona lost out on their chance to get 2020 off to a flyer after suffering a defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup’s semi-final last week. More than anything, it was a lapse of concentration and tactical failure from the Blaugrana with Ernesto Valverde once again being blamed for the debacle.

However, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were quick to put the Barca manager behind their backs and insisted that the loss was only their responsibility. Diario GOL has reported that there is a lot more cooking behind the scenes and nobody really is happy within the dressing room with the kind of job that Valverde is doing.
Lionel Messi is among those who is most frustrated with how Barca are doing as a club and has threatened to the board to leave at the end of this season if his demands go unfulfilled. Firstly, Messi has asked for Valverde’s exit on an immediate basis. That said, he does not see Xavi as an ideal candidate for the longer term and wants Koeman to be the coach.
With that said, Messi has once again emphasized the need of signings for the club, especially in the attacking department where some players are struggling and others are bearing responsibilities on their shoulders in spite of reaching the final stages of their careers. Neymar and Lautaro Martinez are the two players wanted by Messi at the Camp Nou.
Finally, he has told the club to get rid of deadweight or players who may spoil the decorum next season. Ousmane Dembele does not seem to be having a future with Barcelona and so, Messi has asked him to be transfer listed. Also, Carles Perez will be sent out on loan but Antione Griezmann will stay after improving in the recent weeks.
Do you think Lionel Messi is correct to display his frustration to the board of directors?
