Neymar has been on the radar of Barcelona for quite some time now but he may reportedly give up on a return to the Camp Nou despite interest.

Ever since his controversial exit from the club in 2017 to Parc Des Princes, Neymar has grown unexpectedly happy at the club, mounting to the rumours surrounding his return to the Camp Nou. However, as per express.co.uk, a return to Barcelona isn’t exactly on the cards for Neymar.

The factors that could hold him in his place at the PSG are Kylian Mbappe and their recent run in the Champions League. Barca on the other hand are struggling and with the recent changes in the management, they could be seen undergoing a transition, at least for the next couple of months.

Neymar is touted to be Messi’s successor at Barcelona and the Blaugrana even tried to land him on numerous occasions in 2019. They made many offers while including the likes of Coutinho and Dembele in the deal in addition to the cash that they were willing to pay for the Brazilian.

Neymar has been in good form off late and therefore it comes as no surprise that Barcelona are looking to land one of the their own during a crisis. Their current season looks to be in a state of jeopardy with the team being overly dependent on the likes of Suarez and Messi. The defense hasn’t stepped up and the midfield is still evolving.

Mbappe and Neymar enjoy a good rapport and they do feel that they can take down any opponent on their day. Injuries have been a major part of Neymar’s stay at PSG and that has stopped him from being a part of some crucial matches. While the dominance of PSG in League 1 is well established, they are under imminent pressure to deliver in the UCL.

It is right to think that Neymar can well be Messi’s successor at the club but with the way things are shaping up at PSG, it is highly unlikely that a deal this month will materialise. Having said that, a complete elimination of the possibility of Neymar at Barcelona cannot be done and hence it will be interesting to see what the Brazilian winger decides.
