Nelson Semedo has been a Barcelona regular for quite some time now and he still remains as one of the brightest defending options in Europe.

Bayern Munich have their eyes set on the Portuguese defender for whom they might make move this month. As per El Desmarque, Barcelona might just let go of the defender should a bid around £30 million arrive.

The 26 year-old has only featured in 35 games since his arrival in 2017. He has got three assists to his name as well but it remains to be seen if he is to continue playing for the Blaugranes.

Semedo’s pace and passing makes him a valuable defender in the right flank. The Bavarian giants have got Joshua Kimmich who is now assuming the role of a central defender along with Benjamin Pavard. Their right flank is in need of depth and the option of Semedo fills in their requirements.

Barcelona on the other hand need to make a few quality buys this winter and the option of selling Semedo provides them with some funds for the same. His buy-out clause is valued around £100 million and his contract with the Blaugranes is set to run out in 2022, so it’s highly unlikely that any club will pay £100 million.

Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the defender and hence it is no surprise that a sum around £30 million can be expected from the deal. Barca need to fill in some shoes and they need to find a replacement for Pique as well, who is now getting slower. They could probably go for the likes of Kurt Zouma or Mbemba who have shown some great promise in the recent past.
