Ole Gunner’s squad has been plagued with some crucial injuries with Pogba and McTominay recuperating. Barcelona too need to strengthen their squad core and particularly the midfield zone which seems to be dependent on Messi.

Ruiz has been on the Blaugranes’ radar for quite some time now and was set to be a key component of Valverde’s plans for the club in the coming future. Moreover, he will be able to form a decent working combination with the likes of Vidal and de Jong.

Fabian Ruiz joined Napoli from Real Betis in 2018 for a sum of £30 million. Since then, his value has grown by leaps and bounds and he is one of the hottest targets in Europe. Both of the Spanish giants in Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the 23 year-old.

Barcelona need to act quickly if they are to capture Ruiz. They need someone to replace Rakitic in the squad who might close to an exit from the club. The Red Devils are close to making a move for him this month and Barcelona need to better the offer that they are going to make in order to have a realistic chance at landing the midfielder.

Quique Setien’s side returns to La Liga action for the first time under its new manager versus Granada on Sunday evening, while Real Madrid will play hosts to Sevilla on Saturday in a bid to top La Liga at least on a temporary basis. Meanwhile, Manchester United visit Premier League giants Liverpool at the Anfield in a historic clash in England.
