Barcelona reject a major request from captain Lionel Messi

Sergio Aguero is arguably one of the best strikers in the world and with Barelona ace Luis Suarez set to be out for 4 months, he’s currently the best in the world.
It comes as no surprise that Barcelona are indeed looking for a replacement for Suarez and Messi wants to team up with his Argentine fellow, as per mirror.co.uk.

It is no secret that the Blaugrana are looking to replace Suarez who has been ageing and has looked slow in recent times. Not to mention, he has been a bit inconsistent off late. However, it will be a grave sin if one forgets to mention that he will be dearly missed at Camp Nou for the time that he’s going to be out.
Aguero has got 249 goals to his name, playing for City and has his contract till 2021. Messi wants him at Barcelona but no official approach has been made to the PL giants. Moreover, with the current form that Aguero is in at the moment, it’s highly unlikely that they will let him go even in exchange for a substantial sum.
However, the point that one must note is that Messi’s request has been rejected and there is a good chance that this might not go down with him very well. There have been instances in the past where Messi hasn’t gotten off on the right foot with his manager and Quique Setien should be well prepared for all the odds.
Barca do need to act on their objective of replacing the veteran in Suarez and Aguero does seem to be a good fit. However, a move for him looks unlikely and they could go for someone like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It will be interesting to see where this rumour will lead one but like it’s always said, only time will tell.
