Barcelona’s initial swap attempt for Juventus attacking midfielder, Federico Bernardeschi, has been rejected by the Italian side, who have now counter offered their own demands.

Barcelona are in talks with Juve for quite some time, in order to secure Bernardeschi. The first offer of 10 million-plus Rakitic on an exchange deal was turned down with Juventus asking for twice the monetary amount.

The Italian giants, however, don’t seem ready to part with the former Fiorentina champion who has been with them since 2017.

Juventus fans are also upset by the rumored exchange of the Italian player for Ivan Rakitic. They are finally seeing Federico as an asset for the Juventus midfield and would like for the manager to wait at least until the summer before finalizing a sale for him.

The Serie A club have demanded 17 million at the least plus Blaugrana’s Croatian midfielder for any sort of negotiations to move forward. The Blaugrana side may not have any other option but to comply if they wish to finalize a deal.

However, at this point, it still remains to be seen whether the Spaniards are willing to up their offer and spend so much to gamble on someone who hasn’t been able to settle down in Turin. There are also on-going talks with Valencia as well, an attempt to swap between Rodrigo and Rakitic, and with the signing of a striker being a priority, Rodrigo might be a better swap deal.

The Italians seem to be very firm about the exchange offer and the Spaniards will now have to evaluate the player thoroughly, especially since Federico has managed to score only 1 goal and has only 1 assist in all his 19 games so far across the competition.
