Barcelona have reached an agreement with AS Roma for the young striker, Carles Perez, who is said to be departing without a buy-back clause.

Barcelona youngster Carles Perez was recently informed that he is no longer needed in the current squad after the return of Ousmane Dembele. AS now reports that Roma have reached an agreement with the club for the Spaniard.

More from Everything Barca

AS Roma’s sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi, spoke to Sky Sports regarding the signing of Perez,

"“We continue with our philosophy, investing in young talented players, The negotiations [for Pérez] are at an advanced stage. We have an excellent relationship with Barcelona and we are talking to the player. Obviously we need to convince him we have the right sports project here for him.” explained Petrachi."

The shocking revelation from the interview was that Petrachi revealed that there will not be a buy-back option included with the signing.

"“I never say that anything is complete until it is all signed, but I’m optimistic. Roma are nobody’s feeder club, so if anyone comes here they will be a Roma player. There will be no repurchase option.”"

Barca will surely look to include a buy-back option for any talented youngster that they let go of as this is a cheaper alternative for a guaranteed great player. Top clubs around the world often look for this opportunity for their potential prospects as they can resign their youngsters if they perform well elsewhere, and once they get them back, they can either play them with the first-team or sell them to make a profit.

Forbes reports that the Italian side will sign the player on a loan deal with an option to purchase the 21-year-old permanently in June for $14.3 million.
