It is understood that Aston Villa are looking to get the services of their young forward, Louie Barry who spent the past six months at Camp Nou.

As per Skysports, Barry is close to agreeing on terms to join Aston Villa before the end of the January transfer window. The 16 year-old arrived from West Bromwich Albion the past summer and by the looks of it, he could well be on his way out after being confined to Youth team all this while.

Barry is one of the top young goal scoring talents in European football and is a prospect for many clubs. It is to be understood that he rejected mnay lucrative offers in favour of the Blaugranes, including a £2 million deal offered by PSG. However, with lack of any first team action, Barry wants a way out.

The air surrounding the sum offered by Villa isn’t exactly clear at the moment and apparently, West Brom are looking to get legal advice for their pursuit of the 16 year-old. If they do succeed, it won’t be the first time that Barry would have featured in West Brom colours.

Barcelona have been on the market for a long-term striker for the club. Suarez’s injury makes the situation only worse and it is quite evident that he hasn’t been at his best and the problems of aging rapidly seem to have caught up with him. He is set to be our for a minimum of 4 months and it is the ideal time for Barcelona to groom someone like Barry.

The ideology behind letting go of one of the brightest prospects in football isn’t exactly clear but Barcelona should sit back and take a minute to think about it. Barry, if groomed well, can evolve into a lethal striker. Moreover, he seems to be a in a good run of form as well and it’s not the usual notion to sell in-form players.
