Sky Sports have now reported that the Catalan giants offered Everton a hefty €100 million (£85 million) for their star striker, and the response from the Premier League club was an immediate rejection. They are unwilling to part ways with their main man despite being offered such an outrageous amount.
Everton feels that this move will not strengthen their current squad, and with the transfer market closing on Friday, it does not leave them ample time to find a proper replacement for their prospect.
Barca’s sporting director, Eric Abidal, had previously acquired about the Brazilian in the last summer transfer window as he viewed him as a player with a similar playing style as Luis Suarez. The English side were unwilling to considering selling their player and as such the 22-year-old signed a new five-year contract with The Toffeemen in December.
Richarlison is in great form this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists in 27 appearances. The Blues coach, Carlo Ancelotti, values him highly and as such will not be willing to negotiate for his star youngster. He has also been a valuable asset for the Brazilian national team, scoring 6 goals in 17 matches since 2018.
Would you want Barca to sign a striker now or wait till the summer?
