Barcelona are going to approach Paris Saint-Germain to re-sign Neymar this summer, but their plans may go down the drain.

Barcelona are targeting Neymar’s signing as their marquee transfer for the upcoming summer. The Brazil international has done a great job at the Parc des Princes since leaving the Camp Nou in 2017 for a world-record fee of 222 million euros, but feels unsettled in France and has opened up to the possibility of returning to his former club.

Paris Saint-Germain were thought to be selling their most expensive signing in the summer, but nothing as such materialized over Neymar’s sale in spite of the player officially handing in a transfer request and resorting to antics such as boycotting training. As such, his conduct has improved a lot since the summer but PSG are prepared for the worst this summer again.

Neymar will not be sold for less than 200 million euros, as the Parisians look to get the biggest return possible on their investment which has failed in delivering the Champions League- a trophy which has been on the club’s radar since many years now. Incidentally, the winger has always been on the injury list during the European knockouts.

Diario GOL has now claimed that Neymar could be on the move this summer, but he may prefer ditching Barcelona in order to land himself at Manchester United. The former Santos forward sees Barca as a sinking ship after the issues that they are battling lately and fears that his dream of becoming the best player would go unfulfilled should he return.

Manchester United have an asset to lure Paris Saint-Germain’s attention in Paul Pogba, and the France international is almost certainly going to hand in a request to be transferred this summer. Juventus and Real Madrid are thought to be attractive destinations, but PSG can offer Pogba the money which neither of the two other clubs can.

Whether Neymar would be interested in Manchester United remains to be seen, but the Premier League is certainly a much better destination for the Brazilian ahead of a crisis-ridden Barcelona. If somebody like Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester City shows interest in him, then he must pick them over Barca even though it’ll be an emotional gamble for Neymar.
