Barcelona has created a new plan to load off their record signing player in the summer transfer market.
It all began in 2017 when Liverpool dismissed the false statement made by Barcelona that the Merseyside club demanded a fee worth 200 million euros for the Brazilian playmaker, Philippe Coutinho, according to the BBC.

Ever since then Barcelona kept pursuing Philippe Countinho and on the 6th of January 2018, Liverpool Fc made an official statement about the transfer of the Brazilian talismanic playmaker to the Blaugrana. The Catalan based club signed Coutinho for a club-record fee of 142 million pounds making him the most expensive Barcelona player ever, according to The Guardian.
Life at the Camp Nou did not start well for the Brazilian playmaker as he was diagnosed with a thigh injury during his medical and was sidelined for 3 weeks before getting his official debut with Barcelona. Coutinho struggled to adapt to play at Barca and could not cope with the pressure. He was often played out of position and the Brazilian playmaker seemed to have lost his spark at the Camp Nou. After a series of poor performances, Barcelona decided to send the former Liverpool star on a season-long to Bayern Munich.
The Brazilian international has had a mixed spell so far at Bayern Munich. Coutinho has managed to put in some impressive performances like his Liverpool days and has also gone missing in certain games as well. Nonetheless, Philippe Coutinho seems to be happy at Bayern Munich and does not plan to return to the Camp Nou, according to Marca.
Although, the club’s board of directors is adamant about selling Coutinho and Coutinho himself does not want to return, Bayern Munich however, does not wish to trigger the 120 million euro clause to secure the former Merseyside star.
Thus to finance the move for Neymar next season, the Catalans have agreed to reduce the Brazilian playmaker’s buy out clause to 80 million euros, according to El Desmarque. So far Philippe Coutinho has managed to score seven goals and help set up eight assists for his teammates across 27 matches in all competitions in the Bavarian jersey.
