Real Madrid is willing to seize Barcelona’s main transfer target by paying off the hefty release clause for the Argentine striker.

Inter Milan’s revolution under former Chelsea boss Conte has seen the club go on top of the Serie A and are also challenging Juventus for the scudetto after eight-year-long domination by the Old Lady.

Inter Milan’s Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez is on fine form this season, having found the net 16 times and providing 4 assists in 28 games in all competitions. Under newly appointed head coach Antonio Conte’s influence, Lautaro Martínez and Romelu Lukaku are one of Europe’s most deadly strike partnerships. The pair together have scored 37 goals in 59 matches in all competitions so far in the season.

More from Everything Barca

After an impressive individual performance against Barcelona in the Camp Nou, the former La Liga striker was considered as a potential transfer target including Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

In the winter transfer window of 2019-20, there was speculation about Lautaro Martinez moving to the Camp Nou, unfortunately, rumours stated that the move was postponed to the summer of 2020-21. However, the Blaugrana’s face a severe issue after Real Madrid has stepped into the race to sign Martinez and is now willing to pay the 111 million euros release clause along with offering a staggering contract which will see the 22-year-old earn 14 million euros per season, according to AS.

Everything seems to be going in Madrid’s favor and soon Martinez might be the new Galactico, although Barcelona is still desperate to sign the player, according to AS.

With an aging 33-year-old injured Luis Suarez, the Blaugrana board consider Lautaro Martinez to be the perfect number 9 and replacement for the former Liverpool striker at the end of the season, according to AS.

The Argentine ace may opt to choose the Blaugrana over Los Blancos because of his relationship with his fellow national teammate Lionel Messi. If the Argentinian striker chooses to move to Camp Nou then Barcelona plan on immediately paying off the release clause rather than negotiating and paying a higher price, according to AS.

AS goes on to report, that out of all the clubs interested in signing Martinez, Barcelona is the most eager club to sign the young striker.

Should Barca pay the release clause immediately to waive off the interest shown by Real Madrid for the Argentine striker?
