Barcelona’s midfielder Ivan Rakitic considers a move away from the Camp Nou to Turin after feeling unsettled at Barcelona.

Ivan Rakitic signed for the Blaugrana in 2014 on a five year deal from Sevilla Fc. The midfielder arrived at Camp Nou with quite a reputation, winning 62 caps for Croatia and scoring 32 goals in 149 appearances for Los Nervionenses.

The Croatian’s debut season with Barcelona was something every footballer dream’s to achieve. The former Sevilla midfielder played a crucial role and also helped Barcelona win their second treble since 2008-09.

Rakitic was crucial for the La Liga in their 2014-15 Champions League campaign as he scored against Manchester City in the Round of 16 and was also the first goalscorer in Berlin against Juventus in the UEFA champions league final, which the Catalans won 3-1 comfortably.

Rakitic was quite comfortable working under Luis Enrique and was consistent in most of his matches. However, when the current Spanish national team coach resigned from Barca, Ivan Rakitic was no longer the same player thereafter despite featuring prominently under Ernesto Valverde.

Under new coach Quique Setién, the former Sevilla star has only started 4 games out of the 7 games since Quique Setién has been in charge of the Blaugrana. At the Camp Nou, Rakitic has been one of the players that the fans constantly whistle and boo at after failing to score a single goal in the La Liga Santander this season.

The continuous poor performances followed by the jeers at the Camp Nou and the lack of support shown by the Barcelona board has made the Croatian international feel unsettled at Barcelona.

Ivan Rakitic has openly expressed his feelings every time he faced the press, recently stating that he would love to play with former Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and also stated that he is one of the best, according to Don Balon.

The Don Balon report goes on to state that the Blaugrana midfielder has the option to either join Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus or move to arch-rivals Atletico Madrid.

Although a move away from Spain might be on Ivan Rakitic’s mind, it will not be an easy move for him. According to Don Balon, Rakitic loves the Spanish lifestyle and the country itself, the Croatian has spent 10 years in Spain and now the Spanish lifestyle is deeply embedded in his blood.
