Barcelona face tough competition from Liverpool after Timo Werner considers joining The Reds over Barca

More from Everything Barca

Timo Werner has been an absolute pillar for RB Leipzig since the day he set foot onto the Reb Bull Arena. In his debut season with RB Leipzig, Timo Werner found the net 21 times in the German league and it made him the highest-scoring German in the league that season and he also helped RB Leipzig qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the clubs history.
The former Verein für Bewegungsspiele Stuttgart striker has already written his name in the history books of the Bundesliga by setting several records. Timo Werner is the youngest player in the Bundesliga history to make 200 appearances in the league. The German international is also the first player to score 50 plus goals for RB Leipzig after he scored a brace in the 6-0 win against Nürnberg which is also RB Leipzig’s biggest ever scoreline in their Bundesliga history.
According to the Express, the pacey German striker is linked with a move to Camp Nou, however, Barcelona now faces stiff competition after Liverpool, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Liverpool have been linked with the former Verein für Bewegungsspiele Stuttgart striker.
The Blaugrana are currently in the search for a long term striker to replace the ageing 33-year-old Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. Barcelona is keeping a close tab on Lautaro Martinez and Timo Werner after they failed to sign Luka Jovic from Frankfurt who decided to join the Los Blancos instead.
However, in the rare turn of events, the German international striker believes that he would fit like a glove in The Red’s squad and he also praises Jurgen Klopp as an ideal coach to nurture his talent, according to the Express.

This could put the Blaugrana in a tough spot leaving them with only one option which is Inter Milan’s in-form striker Lautaro Martinez.

Should Barcelona continue to pursue Timo Werner or should they go all-in for Lautaro Martinez?
