Making Lionel Messi feel unwanted and unhappy is the last thing that Barcelona can afford to do at this point in time where the future looks dark.
Barcelona are currently in a falling state amid Ernesto Valverde’s sacking last month and the latest criticality that has surrounded their board of directors. The Catalans may have presidential elections soon, but over and above that, there are a lot of internal matters to be solved, such as the quarrel between Lionel Messi and Eric Abidal.

Lionel Messi undoubtedly has a major say in what goes on at the Camp Nou and there is a major chance that he could actually end up leaving the club in the summer in spite of denying the news in a recent interview. The Argentina international has reached at a God-like status at not just Barca, but in the sport as a whole, so disappointing him could be a bad move.
As such, Messi was not even happy with Valverde’s sacking as the pair reportedly shared a very cordial relationship and their latest failures in the transfer market have only gone on to further put off the world’s best player. That being said, the forward’s departure is the last thing that Barca want given that all that they are right now is just because of Messi.
Express has reported that the current Barcelona board is plotting a move in the summer for Messi’s national teammate and Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in order to keep the player happy. As it is, Luis Suarez’s days at the prime are over and it’s high time that the club signs a replacement for him and Martinez’s profile is certainly matching of their requirement.
Inter Milan will do all they can to hold onto Lautaro Martinez, but even the player could be interested in transferring to the Camp Nou and hence, the move may go through in the summer and is looking just like a matter of time. His release clause is 111 million euros and the player expects a weekly wage of close to 200,000 euros with Real Madrid wanting him too.
Do you think Lautaro Martinez will be able to replicate Luis Suarez’s numbers in Barca?
