Barcelona’s Lionel Messi had recently spoken about the possible arrival of his former teammate Neymar from PSG which now seems highly unlikely as Real Madrid step in to sign the winger in the summer of 2020-21.

As Barcelona’s captain Lionel Messi has made it clear that he would love to see Neymar at the Camp Nou once again and Barcelona have devised a plan to sign the winger, however, it all seems unlikely after Real Madrid have involved themselves in the Neymar transfer saga.

It is quite evident that Real Madrid’s sole motive is to sign the 21-year old World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe. The Los Blancos will try to sign the sensational French international forward in the summer of 2021 or at least by 2022 which is when the 21-year old Parisian winger’s contract comes to an end with Paris Saint-Germain.

More from Everything Barca

It would cost the Los Blanco’s around 300 million euros if not more to bring the former Monaco star to Santiago Bernabéu. 300 million euros would be a lot of money to spend on bringing in just one star next season as Real Madrid also plan to sign a replacement for Luka Modric as well as Gareth Bale.

An alternative smarter option for Florentino Perez would be to sign the French superstar Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2022 when his contract would be coming to an end with the Parisian based club.
Until the arrival of the 2018 World Cup winner, The Whites have saved room for another player to be brought in the summer of 2020-21 from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Los Blancos plan on selling their Welsh international Gareth Bale to pave the way for the former Barcelona star Neymar Junior, according to Don Balon.

As Neymar continues showing his dissent towards Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona’s plan of signing Neymar seems very unlikely, Real Madrid could be the go-to option for the Brazilian.
As Barcelona still have Griezmann, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho returning from loan next season, the players high salaries make it unfeasible for the Blaugrana to attempt to sign Neymar who would cost around 200-250 million euros along with a hefty salary of 40 million euros per season, according to Don Balon.

PSG would also prefer selling their most expensive player to Real Madrid as they have better a relationship when compared to their strained relationship with the Catalans, according to Don Balon.

The Parisian winger is one of the world’s most technically gifted players and has the skill to shatter defenses with his Brazilian flowing samba feet. The former Barcelona winger also has a lot of supporters at Santiago Bernabéu rather than Barcelona where most of the club officials did not take his departure well. Some of Neymar’s supporters are Casemiro, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Reinier, Marcelo, and Zidane who is an expert at working with big egos.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos believes that the squad can straighten out the Brazilian and can make him the best player in the world, according to Don Balon.

Real Madrid’s captain has also had his share of praising the Brazilian winger in public on multiple occasions, neither has the winger been reluctant to wear the famous white jersey and play with his friends and other Galactico’s such as Eden Hazard, according to Don Balon.

Should Barcelona forget Neymar and hope to sign another forward instead?
