Barcelona could consider Ronald Araújo as a first-team replacement, however, Quique Setiein does not consider Ronald to be a reliable first-team alternative player. Thus, Barcelona has gone all out for the search of a first-team quality player to replace Pique.

Barcelona’s board has considered Hugo Guillamon from Valencia and has been on the Blaugrana’s tab for a very long time, according to Don Balon. The 20 Spaniard was a started in the European under 17 and 19 competitions and also played an integral part in the U-17 World Cup as well.

The Los Ches’s manager Albert Celades gave the 20-year-old his first-team debut agaisnt Real Sociedad. The Barcelona target got to play his first-ever 45 minutes of professional football in the top division.

The Blaugrana are well aware of his potential and his strong charismatic personality, which makes him a worthy successor of Pique. As luck favors the Cules, the contract of Hugo Guillamon ends in June with Valencia, which means that the Blaugrana free to negotiate terms without any transfer cost.

Barca can capitalize on this potential free agent and can build a sustainable future with this addition. The plan at Catalonia is to schedule the preseason at the orders of Setien and make Hug Guillamon a Barca B player for him to adapt to the club.

Later on, the 20-year-old Valencia man will train with Leo Messi, Luis Suarez, Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets, and company.

Little by little, Barcelona will get their new Pique ready!
