After Barcelona’s shambolic performance agaisnt Napoli in the Champions League, Lionel Messi has fallen out with Quique Setien and has named the new manager that he would like at the club.

Unfortunately, the manager does not get along well with the big shots at the club, who look down on the manager and consider him as a short term alternative rather than a long term solution at the club.

Barcelona’s captain Lionel Messi has made it very clear that if the club would want him to renew his contract, then their first obligation would be to fire the former UD Las Palmas manager and sign a proper technician, according to Don Balon.

The coach that Lionel Messi does consider maybe Xavi Hernandez, who was shortlisted to take over Ernesto Valverde’s role but lost out to Quique Setien, according to Don Balon.

The former Barcelona legend has no experience in Europe as a coach and has had quite a dry spell at Al-Sadd Qatar since taking over. However, Messi and the heavyweights of the club would love to see the prodigal son of the Camp Nou return home.

Thenumber 6 of Barcelona was a technically gifted midfielder and could read the game like no other. With Xavi’s immense experience as a Barca player and his technical mindset, he could be a great addition to help out the young jewels at Barca and also get the club back on track.

He knows exactly what it means to wear the Blaugrana jersey and play at Camp Nou, the pressure, the philosophy, what the fans demand and how to handle a locker room filled with stars. Xavi Hernandez could also recruit the Catalan’s former Captain Carles Puyol who is a beloved figure at the club and idol to many around the world

Xavi could play a major role in reshaping the philosophy at Barca, as the player himself is a product of the famous La Masia. The Catalans have splurged money in the last few seasons on players that have shown no value for all the million euros that were spent. Xavi could use the La Masia academy to create a sustainable future in Barcelona rather than splurging money.
