Barcelona are expected to sign everyone within their reach this summer to keep Lionel Messi, and their captain has asked for an additional name.

Barcelona brought in Junior Firpo from Real Betis during the summer’s transfer window as the youngster had shown a great amount of promise while in Seville. The 23 year old’s arrival was marred with controversy and hubbub amongst the supporters, who had discovered tweets of him abusing Lionel Messi and hence, demanding the move to collapse.

About six months into his tenure at the Camp Nou, thoughts are that he has fallen out with Lionel Messi inside the dressing room and his future at the club is looking bleak. Besides just falling out with the club’s greatest ever player, the Dominican left back’s chances have also been few and mostly only because of Jordi Alba’s injury issues.

Junior Firpo is nowhere close to his club teammate as noticed in his recent displays and looks toothless in attack as well as defence. As suggested, Alba’s injury opened the door for a start to Firpo in the Napoli clash. The Italian giants were absolutely ripping the youngster apart and there was not much he could do, both, offensively or defensively.

Don Balon has claimed that Lionel Messi demands Firpo’s sale during the upcoming transfer window and has asked his side to sanction a move for his national teammate and Ajax Amsterdam ace Nicolas Tagliafico. The Argentine is 27 years old and at the peak of his powers, so Barca would potentially capture him at the right moment.

Nicolas Tagliafico possesses brilliant quality going forward as well as while staying behind, so his value of an approximate 30 million euros would not be something that fazes the Blaugrana. In January, the player committed himself to Ajax for the remainder of the season but what happens in the summer remains to be seen.
