Barcelona might lose their unsung hero Marc Andre Ter Stegen, as the player feels that he is no longer appreciated at the club by the board of directors in terms of financial matters.

Marc Andre Ter Stegen is well aware that Barcelona will sit down in May with his agent to negotiate a new contract that the keeper has been wanting for. The club’s saviour is the second most important player in the Barca squad, unfortunately, Ter Stegen earns just 6 million euros a season while several other players are higher up on the payroll.

More from Everything Barca

The board of directors at Barcelona are willing to offer a contract renewal that would put his salary at 10 million euros a season, however, the new contract may not be enough as the German international has a better offer from elsewhere, according to Don Balon.

Ter Stegen has been nothing short of a hero and saviour at the club, but he now feels that the club does not value him for all his effort on the field and that is why he will sit down with his agent over the summer and look at proposals from other clubs.

The best offer for Ter Stegen is Paris Saint Germain, who is willing to offer the goalkeeper a staggering salary of around 15 million euros per season, which would also make him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world, according to Don Balon.

Paris Saint-Germain’s offer would give him the recognition that he very well deserves for all his performances in recent years that has drawn comparisons with the best goalkeepers such as Jan Oblak and Brazil’s Allison Becker.

The Catalan club is well aware that they cannot compete with the Parisian based club in terms of player wages, that is why the Blaugrana must somehow convince Ter Stegen to sign a 10 million euro contract. The club cannot afford to lose their unsung hero who was saved the club on innumerous occasions without receiving much credit.
