Barcelona are expected to give it a go for one of their surprise targets in a bid to replace lethal goal-scorer Luis Suarez in the summer’s transfer window.
Barcelona will be in the transfer market during the summer and could possibly spearhead the list of most expensive signings following their interest in the likes of Neymar and Lautaro Martinez. Moreover, if they manage to sell Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, the club would be in a better financial position to land their desired targets.

In spite of Neymar publicly being interested in a return to the Camp Nou as per various claims over the previous duration, it has been thought that Barca would prioritize on a striker’s signing going into the summer. Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez is their obvious and chief target, but there are no guarantees that they would be able to bring him in.
Lautaro Martinez has scored 16 goals for Inter Milan this season and has formidable attacking doublet alongside Romelu Lukaku at the San Siro. The Argentina international has a release clause of 111 million euros, but Antonio Conte will do all he can to hold onto the 22 year old who promises to develop into a world-class striker as he gains experience.
Whether or not Martinez agrees to stay with his current side remains to be seen and more so, given the presence of a release clause in his contract. However, Antonio Conte may more than convince the Argentinian to stay if he manages to win the Serie A title and go all the way in the UEFA Europa League as well- a realistic aim looking at the current squad.
Don Balon has claimed that the Blaugrana have shortlisted Real Sociedad frontman Alexander Isak as a potential solution if they are unable to land Martinez. The Sweden international is just 20, but is enjoying a great season with his Basque side having notched 14 strikes and assisted nine times, including a brace against Barca’s rival Real Madrid.
Real Sociedad look at Alexander Isak as a replacement to Willian Jose, so it’s difficult to think that they would let go of the youngster for anything less than 70 million euros and especially just one season after bringing him in. Furthermore, La Real are looking like Champions League contenders this year and that may be another hilt between Isak and Barcelona.
Do you think Isak will be a better signing than Martinez by looking his physical attributes?
