Barcelona assistant coach under fire from players following Clasico antics
The Barcelona assistant manager was caught being very animated on the bench and showing his displeasure at the team’s performance.
The drama at Barcelona does not seem to want to end. If it’s not one thing it’s another as the drama this week centers around Quique Setien’s assistant, Eder Sarabia.
Sarabia was caught during the match against Real Madrid reacting poorly to mistakes being made on the pitch. Reports are coming out now that his display has caused unease among the players.

According to Sport, Sarabia complained about passes not going to right players and bemoaned Antoine Griezmann’s miss in the first-half.
If there is any quote or action that may be construed to be out-of-line, it’s the one where Sarabia criticizes an unknown player.
He says that the player does not do anything he is supposed to do, shoots when he’s not supposed to and vice-versa.
Cadena Cope report that the players believe his behavior was inappropriate and is not something they will respond to positively.
Diario AS also report that Quique Setién will talk to his right-hand man to try to get him to calm down and use a different approach that the players will respond positively to.
Out of all the complaints and issues this season, this one is by far the most comical. Perhaps Sarabia went too far by singling players out but he wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary.
He’s Setién’s right-hand man and is the one shouting instructions from the touchline. Setién is rather calm during matches and Sarabia is the one who shouts when things aren’t going well. In other words, he’s doing his job.
Given the criticism coming internally towards the players, they may feel that type of behavior is unnecessary right now. They’ve been preaching unity since Valverde’s dismissal and they seem to be getting anything but that.
Would things have been different had he not been caught on camera reacting the way he did? Maybe.
But Sarabia was simply reacting to the missed opportunities during the biggest game in Spain. He knew how important a win would have been only to see the game slipping away as the match went on.
It just seems a little ridiculous for the players to be getting so riled about it. But then this season has been ridiculous in and of itself so this latest controversy is just something else to add to the pile.
