Barcelona have decided to go against Messi’s demands by signing an alternative for Neymar from La Liga

As Barcelona plan on closing on the Lautaro Martinez deal by paying the 111 million euro clause to Inter Milan next summer, the return of Neymar seems less likely as Barca may struggle to have enough funds to pull off the operation.

More from Everything Barca

Neymar Junior has been a Barca top priority since time immemorable, last summer the Catalan club tried everything they possibly could to sign the Parisian star once again. Lionel Messi had also told Mundo Deportivo that he is eagerly waiting and would love to see his Brazilian friend in the Barcelona jersey again.

The current Barca board seems to be a puppet in the hands of Leo Messi, any demands made by the legendary number 10 have to be met, however, the Neymar return demand seems next to impossible now.

A cheap alternative to sign the world’s most expensive player has been brainstormed by the technical directors of the Catalan club. The club considers signing Mikel Oyarzabal who has been named as the captain of Real Sociedad after former Los Blancos player Illarramendi sustained a serious injury, according to Don Balon.

Mikel Oyarzabal will turn 23 in April, despite his young age the Real Sociedad player has immense experience in the Spanish top-flight division. The player is already liked by Luis Enrique who will shortlist him for the upcoming Euro 2020 squad.

His speed and versatile style of play helps him stand out as the player can shine in midfield and on the wings. Barca considers terminating his 80 million euros release clause, according to Don Balon.
