Marc-Andre Ter Stegen thinks about Barcelona exit after Lionel Messi fallout
Barcelona could lose out on one of their most important players of the season if they don’t manage to keep him happy before the transfer window opens.
Barcelona are in a critical state right now. The situation at the very highest level in the club is well-known to the outsiders and is not good to say the least. Moreover, Lionel Messi and Eric Abidal are having a public fallout. Following the El Clasico loss to Real Madrid, there have been doubts cast over Quique Setien as well and some players are thinking about their futures ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Lionel Messi has a massive say in the matters at Camp Nou and has been pushing the club to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, even going on to publicly speak that he would love to reunite with the South American ace soon. With that said, the captain has also asked some players to be shown the door and other newbies to be gotten in.
Don Balon has reported that the Argentina international has asked the club to get rid of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen during the summer. It has been thought that the German shot-stopper had a heated argument with Messi at the start of this season and that carried on following the defeat in Santiago Bernabeu last weekend. Furthermore, the goalkeeper isn’t happy about his salary at the Camp Nou.
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is paid six million euros annually and is not even amongst the top five earners at Barcelona. Having said that, the former Borussia Monchengladbach goalie has consistently been one of the best in his position over the last few years but earns less than the likes of Courtois, Neuer, Ederson and Keylor Navas.
Ter Stegen has a release clause of 180 million euros in his contract, so that would certainly be an absolute bomb to be paid for a goalkeeper for any club. Nevertheless, if the player is not interested in playing for the Blaugrana anymore then he might have to evaluate between Juventus, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan as his next landing spot. Despite his release clause being possibly lowered by Barca, they won’t settle for cheap.
