Barcelona are plotting a transfer that could see Neymar return to Camp Nou, but the player’s demands might make the operation a bit difficult.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi was the difference between the Catalans and Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou, where the hosts temporarily returned to top La Liga after a 1-0 win on Saturday evening. Barca’s faithful did not show much love to the players as they started whistling the team from the 15th minute and went on to do so until Messi’s penalty goal.

More from Everything Barca

While nothing as such was noticed during the match, a lot of Barca fans even have major discontentment against the board led by Bartomeu as well and there is a belief that the current president’s departure could sort out a lot of issues at the club. However, with elections just a year away now, the directorial board is plotting transfers to convince fans.

Don Balon has reported that the Blaugrana will once again ignite their interest in Paris Saint-Germain ace Neymar who left the club for 222 million euros in the 2017 summer. Even though the Brazil international did not depart the club at the best of times and in the most professional manner possible, he is still a loved figure and has great relations with the players.

Neymar’s time at Paris has been a bit turbulent because he fell behind Kylian Mbappe and missed out on a lot of crucial matches due to injuries. Last summer, the former Barca superstar was pushing for a transfer back to Spain but having stayed in France for at least one more season, he is enjoying one of his best spells in Ligue 1 and seems happier than ever.

PSG will demand a fee of close to 200 million euros from Barcelona should they wish to sign Neymar this summer and even if they end up signing him, the player is hellbent about playing alongside Lionel Messi. That’s one of his primary demands ahead of a potential return and Neymar will not go back to the Camp Nou if Messi departs even though there’s a minimal chance.
