Barcelona and Brazil have had a long history of indisciplined players who lost out on game time due to their lifestyle, Arthur Melo could be the next player in the line who may have to leave the club after falling out with the board and manager.

The former Real Betis manager has had a rough period ever since he took over Barcelona after Ernesto Valverde was sacked midseason. The Cantabrian seems to be spineless in terms of imposing his authority at the club as several of the big names have tried imposing their control over the club.

More from Everything Barca

One of the most troublesome players for Quique Setien has been Arthur Melo who was once considered to be the replacement for Xavi Hernandez. The 23-year-old midfielder has lived a party fueled lifestyle in the city of Barcelona and has struggled on the field with his poor body conditioning.

Arthur Melo also shares a close relationship with former Barcelona winger Neymar, the pair have often been spotted partying in Paris numerous times.

The Blaugrana board had a brief discussion with Arthur Melo over the summer last season regarding his lifestyle and poor condition that could impact his role as a starter for the club.

Don Balon claims that Setien is frustrated with the Brazilian forward and that the board has given the player an ultimatum to change his lifestyle before he is shown the door.

The club president plans to conduct a revamp by signing a few crucial players and showing the door to the lesser committed ones at the club. Arthur Melo could be one of the players who might leave in the next summer transfer window if the player does not turn a new leaf at the club.

Quique Setien already has considered a few options to sign next season as an alternative for Arthur Melo if he does not change his ways. After crashing out from the Copa Del Rey and losing the El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu, the players must show support toward’s their coach and a sense of unity must prosper amongst the players to work as a unit.
