The board of Barcelona considers signing Manchester City’s future fullback next season as a replacement for Jordi Alba
Barcelona had signed Junior Firpo from Real Betis for a song of only 18 million euros excluding the undisclosed add ons. The former Betico was considered as a rising promising talent in La Liga Santander and was wanted by several top clubs around the world including Real Madrid.

However, Barca managed to secure the services of the 23-year-old Dominican who has had a tough spell in his debut season so far.
Junior Firpo has had issues in settling down in the city of Barcelona and his poor performances have also seen him fall out with the club’s captain Lionel Messi.
The Blaugrana have now considered signing a fullback on the left flank as Junior Firpo fails to impress the manager and Jordi Alba is more susceptible to injuries than he ever was before.
Don Balon claims that Barca is interested in signing the young Spaniard Jose Angelino from Manchester City, who may lose most of their crucial players as they face an all European Competition ban after a breach in the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules.
The 23-year-old Spaniard is currently on loan with RB Leipzig who has run riot in the Champions League after knocking out Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur side in the Round of 16.
The Catalan team has sent scouts on several occasions to closely watch the player in Germany and the positive feedback from the scouting team has given the club the green light to possibly sign Pep’s future talent.
Signing Angelino will not be an easy task as the player is bounded by contract with Manchester City until 2023 and Pep Guardiola has plans to include the player next season.
Would Barca be able to convince the Spaniard to leave Pep Guardiola for Quique Setien?
