The recent outbreak of the COVID-19 has caused panic and chaos all over the world, however, in Barcelona, there might be a positive impact from the outbreak.

The world is currently suffering from a pandemic called Coronavirus or the COVID-19. The virus has spread all over the planet and several countries have declared a state of emergency. The beautiful game and several other sports have also been affected by the outbreak which has led to the suspension of several leagues such as the La Liga and the Premier League. However, in Barcelona, the virus could end up being beneficial. Here’s how it is possible.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona and Real Madrid have been fighting for the La Liga Santander and both the clubs have severely underperformed this season. The Catalans have suffered from their lack of squad depth which led to the emergency signing of Martin Braithwaite that was permitted by the La Liga board.

Barcelona lost their prolific goal scorer Luis Suarez; the former Liverpool star was side-lined for the entire season after surgery on the external meniscus of his right knee. Although Martin Braithwaite is a great addition to the club, he still lacks the quality to fill in the shoes of Luis Suarez.

However, the suspension of all the competitions due to the COVID-19 outbreak could be the perfect opportunity for Luis Suarez to recover if the season does resume later. For now, there has been no confirmation about when the season would resume or if the season would be considered null and void.

Lionel Messi has expressed his disappointment while on an interview with Mundo Deportivo about how the current Barca side lack quality players after the injury crisis to win the UEFA Champions League.

Don Balon claims that Lionel Messi is waiting for the possible return of his close friend and that it would massively strengthen the team with an aim of winning the Champions League once again after several years of dominance by Real Madrid.
