Lionel Messi would be 33 next season and Luis Suarez would turn 34 as well, the Blaugrana must plan for the future and Lautaro Martinez would be the perfect alternative to fill in the former Liverpool striker’s boots at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi while on an interview with Mundo Deportivo stated that he would love to see his former teammate Neymar return and that his countryman Lautaro would be a great addition to their squad to compete for the Champions League.

The Catalan based club have already consulted the San Siro striker and his agent about a possible switch to the Camp Nou, according to Don Balon. The only issue for Barca would be the immense competition they face as several top teams desperately want Lautaro Martinez after his sudden rise to fame.

Several teams are willing to pay Inter Milan 111 million euros to trigger the release clause so that they can directly negotiate with the player.
111 million euros is an astronomical figure for the 22-year-old striker, however, the Argentine talents rapid progression may justify the price tag set by Antonio Conte’s new team. However, at Camp Nou, they plan on reducing the striker’s amount as they also consider signing a world-class right back.

Don Balon claims that Barca has devised a plan on how they would sign Lautaro Martinez for a cheaper amount. Antonio Conte has planned to sign his former Juventus pupil from Barcelona as he favours his style of play.

Last January Conte had negotiated with Vidal’s agent but Barca wanted nothing less than 30illion euros for the Chilean star meanwhile Inter would not exceed 15 million. Barca plans on offering Nelson Semedo as well for 30 million along with Arturo Vidal.

Barcelona would have to pay only 50 million euros if the double player swap deal worth 60 million euros falls through.
