Barcelona will soon need to replace Gerard Pique and may do so by signing a player recommended by the man himself during the summer.

Although the La Liga Santander has been suspended for the rest of the season, Barcelona is currently the league leaders and if the league is called off then Barca might be crowned as defending champions of Spain.

Currently, the club is facing several issues on and off the pitch as well, in the dressing room Gerard Pique seems to have fallen out with an important player of the team and the center-back has also named an alternative for the player.

The 2010 World Cup winner is known to express his feelings very candidly whenever he is questioned. Pique believes that the club’s issue in the defence is from the right flank and that Sergi Roberto is the main issue at the back. A bright talent from the Premier League is considered as a potential replacement for Roberto in the right flank.

Sergi Roberto was the hero of the La Remontada after Neymar Junior played in perfectly lofted ball over the Paris Saint-Germain defence to Roberto to seal the comeback. The 28-year-old started his career as a midfielder but was then converted to right-back and was occasionally played as a right-winger as well. The versatile Spaniard certainly lacks pace and is barely decisive when played on the flank, the club now considers reinforcing the right flank in the summer market.

Gerard Pique has advised Josep Maria Bartomeu and his sports management team to sign their former La Masia player Adama Traore, according to Don Balon. The 24-year-old Wolverhampton right-winger knows the Catalan club inside out after spending 11 years of his youth at the club.

The pacey right-winger is on contract with Wolves until 2023, however, the player has shown intentions of playing at a top-flight team. Adama Traore is massively built and can easily outpace any player in La Liga Santander, something that Sergi Roberto cannot offer.

Although Barca had let Adama Traore go in 2015, the Wolves ace has expressed his feelings that he would not mind returning to the club and at the same time he has also kept the door open for a possible Real Madrid switch.

The Blaugrana will consider Piques demand over the summer and will look for more alternatives as well.
