Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool are all contenders in a hunt to sign one of Europe’s most sought after midfielders and could make official bids soon.

Spanish playmaker Fabian Ruiz has impressed Europe with his ability to formulate offensively as well as provide a cushion defensively both for his club and country. His style of play has made him a target for Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool, according to the Express.

Unlike the 2018-2019 season, Napoli have struggled to qualify to make it to a Champions League spot this season and are looking like a Europa League side for next year. The midfield maestro Fabian Ruiz is adamant to get regular Champions League football and is attracted to sign for either Liverpool or Barca over the summer.

The 2018-2019 Champions League winners Liverpool are the most likely destination for the Spain international as they have rebuilt their squad and the former Real Betis midfielder seems like the missing piece in their midfield. Jorden Henderson and James Milner have been exceptional defensively but have lacked to provide offensive support which Ruiz can give. Jorgen Klopp has been able to enhance and improve performances of players such as Oxlade Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum who have a similar playing style as the Spanish international which could tempt him into joining Liverpool.

The 2018-2019 La Liga champions Barcelona are also in the race to sign the former Real Betis player. Quique Setien the current manager of Barca has coached the young midfielder in Andalusia and has built a healthy relationship with him. The Spaniard could be lured to sign for the Catalan giants as he will be shifting back to a familiar system of football in La Liga where he played before he moved to the Italian Serie A.

Another attraction for Fabian Ruiz to sign for Barcelona is that he will find it easier to get international caps for his country as well as the chance to play with other Spanish international such as Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique who can help add value and knowledge into his career.
