Barcelona should opt to sign Portuguese superstar from the Premier League

Barcelona should opt to sign a world-class winger in the next transfer window.

Ousmane Dembele’s injury has made it tough for Barcelona to be as creative as they wished from the wings. The Spanish giants should attempt to sign the Portuguese midfielder Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers FC in the next transfer window.

Diogo Jota has been outstanding for Wolves this season and has helped his side perform exceptionally well in the Europa League. The Portuguese international has a great work rate and exhibits the ability to create goalscoring opportunities consistently. Diogo Jota has acted as the backbone for his side and has played a crucial role in helping them compete for an Europa League spot as well as keep them in the hopes of qualifying for the Champions League in the 2020-2021 season.

The Spanish giants would benefit from this transfer as it will help ease the pressure on the young shoulders of Ansu Fati. The 17-year-old wunderkind has had the pressure to fill in the shoes of injured Ousmane Dembele which might hinder his growth in the future. The signing for Diogo Jota will help remove the pressure on Ansu Fati and him develop at a more sustainable rate.

Diogo Jota could benefit from this move as he is at the peak of his career and is missing out on playing Champions League football. The Spanish League has suited a lot of Portuguese players and has developed their careers and has taken their careers to the next level. The thought of following the footsteps of Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo might tempt him to sign for Barcelona.

This transfer would only be possible if Barca fails to sign their primary transfer target Neymar over the summer transfer window.
