After departing from Barcelona in summer of 2017 to join Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar is keen on re-joining Barcelona and playing alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. The move to bring back the Brazil international to the Camp Nou will be an extremely expensive proposition. Barca should consider signing Jadon Sancho or Serge Gnabry instead who will act as cheaper alternatives.
Jadon Sancho has been in impeccable form for Dortmund. The English international is the creative mind behind Dortmund’s front-line this season and has become one of the most wanted players in the next transfer window. Jadon Sancho has great passing and dribbling abilities and at the mere age of 20 has the potential to mature into one of the biggest superstars of European football. Barcelona could contend to sign Jadon Sancho for around 120 million euros.
Serge Gnabry could be considered as another replacement for Neymar Jr. The 24-year-old Germany international has consistently provided width as well as been a regular goal scorer for Bayern Munich. Serge Gnabry has been criticised his whole career and has been able to prove his critics wrong.
Under the guidance of Bayern Munich’s coaching staff, Gnabry has picked up abilities and techniques to transform himself into a powerhouse who has the confidence to take on world class defenders with ease. The German international has been mentored and trained alongside players such as Robert Lewandowski and Ivan Perisic which has made Serge Gnabry mature way beyond his age.
The Bundesliga duo or even one of the two players could act as a great alternative if the Neymar’s transfer fails to go through.
The Blaugrana would benefit enormously by saving a lot of money which they could use to tighten their defence over the summer.
