The former Betico manager in his playing days was deployed as a midfielder and he made his name at Racing Santander after he scored 68 goals for the club after spending 12 seasons, which earned him the title El Maestro. Through his immense experience as a player and a manager, the 61-year-old manager admires Valencia’s Ferran Torres and considers him as an ideal recruitment to support the attacking frontline next season, according to Don Balon.
The 20-year-old winger has shown tremendous potential this season and has already proved the world that he can be one of the best players in Europe in the coming years. The Los Ches winger has scored 4 goals and 4 assists in 25 games in La Liga along with 2 goals and 2 assists in the Champions League.
Valencia signed Goncalo Guedes who was labeled as Europe’s future star and probably the most entertaining talents, however, Ferran Torres has taken over the Portuguese winger’s role in the team.
Josep Maria Bartomeu and his team have already shown their interest to the Los Ches and have been given an estimated figure worth 55 million euros for the 20-year-old winger. Valencia is willing to sell their future star for a song which would lead to immense competition as many clubs would want the winger for the bargained price.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, and Juventus are prepared to challenge Barcelona to sign Torres next season. It all boils down now to the Catalan board to consider Quique Setien’s request before they lose the player to other clubs.
