Barcelona offer a lucrative contract to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen
Barcelona continue their negotiations with Marc-Andre ter Stegen amidst temptations from Bundesliga giant, Bayern Munich.
Ter Stegen recently demanded to be paid close to €15 million ( $17m/£13m) a year, which would make him second only to Lionel Messi in terms of wages at Barcelona. The request, however, was turned down by the club.

The German international’s current contract with the Spanish side expires in 2022, and while Barca remains confident in securing the talented goalkeeper for years to come, the two parties are finding it difficult to reach a mutually agreeable deal.
The 27-year-old believes that after dominating six seasons with the Catalans, he deserves to be earning an amount that would reflect his efforts.
While the Catalan giants truly understand his values, they simply cannot afford to offer the requested amount and have counter-offered a €6.5 million/year deal that would tie the goalkeeper until 2024.
Sport reports that the former Borussia Monchengladbach player may be tempted by Bayern Munich’s interest that would help him secure a move back to his country. The Bavarian side is one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga and while it is a home for Ter Stegen’s rival for Germany No.1 spot, Manuel Neuer, the move could perhaps help him secure this spot under Germany’s head coach Joachim Löw.
Blaugrana have made Ter Stegen’s contract renewal a priority before the start of the summer transfer window as to fend off any keen European sides, with Goal reporting Chelsea’s interest while ESPN also reveals Juventus are looking into the player’s situation as well.
Should Barca give in to Ter Stegen’s demands?
