Quique Setien prepares the signing of the season for Barcelona, as he insists the board not to sell or loan their current player who is in Germany.

Philippe Coutinho’s career is one like no other, the former Liverpool man had gone from possibly having his own statue outside Anfield to becoming a player that no club wants to sign. However the Barcelona player is not the only one to face such as an issue, James Rodriguez was signed by Real Madrid after he won the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup, after a successful debut season with the club, the Columbian fell down the pecking order under current manager Zidane and was sent on a two-season loan to Bayern Munich in 2017.

Bayern Munich seems to have become a dumping ground for Real Madrid and Barcelona, James Rodriguez, Philippe Coutinho and now Alvaro Odriozola, all the three major signings who have not performed for their respective clubs have been shipped off to the Bavarian based club.

Although James Rodriguez might not be a Real Madrid player next season, the Brazilian creative midfielder will not face the same circumstances, as the former Betico manager Quique Setien wants the player back.

The Barcelona coach has put his demands forward to the board that the Brazilian must stay next season. The manager claims the return of the club’s most expensive player as the signing of the season. He believes that he could help him find his Brazilian samba feet again and regain his Liverpool form that once dazzled the world.

The Catalan club had paid a  record fee worth 150 million euros to sign the former Inter Milan player in the winter transfer market of the 2017-18 season from Liverpool.

Coutinho wants to continue at the Catalan club as long as he is trusted and the board shows faith in him. The player is well aware that the club is massively disappointed by his poor performance during his short spell at the club after they paid a club-record fee to sign him.

However, if the club officials do turn down Setien’s request, Manchester United and Chelsea are prepared to have the player on board, although only on loan.

Don Balon claims that Quique Setien is adamant about bringing back Coutinho as Ivan Rakitic or Arturo Vidal may leave the club next season and Coutinho could create a formidable partnership along with Frenkie de Jong.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are also very fond of the Brazilian talismanic forward and if Messi and Suarez do intervene then there is a higher possibility for Philippe Coutinho to return.
