Barcelona willing to listen to offers and sell should the right price come along.

Ousmane Dembélé’s career at Barcelona has been filled with more downs than ups. He signed with the Catalan club back in 2017 following the departure of Neymar and, at the time, was viewed as good signing albeit an expensive one.

However, he injured his hamstring early on in the season in a game against Getafe and unfortunately injuries have plagued him ever since. When it comes to his future at the club, nothing is off the table.

According to Diario Sport, Liverpool are interested in the young Frenchman with Jürgen Klopp reportedly pushing for his signing.

The European champions are looking to improve their squad with some tweaking deemed necessary after crashing out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool are said to be willing to pay €90 million for the former Borussia Dortmund player.

Barcelona paid Dortmund €120 million for Dembélé but his value has dropped given his injuries and lack of playing time.

Should Liverpool come at them with that amount, it may be difficult for the Catalans to turn down. There are definite pros and cons of selling him.

On the con side, there really is no player on the team who offer what he can. He’s a skillful and quick player which they don’t have at the moment. At the same time, he’s only shown flashes of it because of the injuries. But when he has played, he’s shown the potential of being a game-changer.

On the pro side, Barcelona could very well accept and recuperate a significant majority of the amount they spent in the first place. It would also free up a spot in the attack and with Philippe Coutinho also likely to be sold, Ansu Fati or another academy player could be given an opportunity.

Dembélé could be back in time before the end of the season considering LaLiga is not likely to start anytime soon given current events. If he is back, it would give the club an opportunity to see how he performs and then decide one way or another what they’d like to do with him.
