Barcelona are going to take a major risk involving their current squad as well as what the future may just to impress their greatest ever player.

The Barcelona board is under endless pressure from the fans to act in the transfer market. Josep Maria Bartomeu has not signed a successful player in the last few years and the literally wasted money behind the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele is subjecting the president to a great amount of blunt from the fans.

Among a list of failed signings, the Blaugrana spent 120 million euros on signing Antoine Griezmann last summer but are almost certainly going to be in the market for another striker, who is set to cost 100 million euros. The Frenchman not having made a good impression is one of the reasons, but most importantly why Barca are hunting for a striker is to keep Lionel Messi happy because he doesn’t get along with Griezmann.

Messi has a big say in matters at the club and one of his biggest demands is that the Catalans sign his best friend Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain and also sell Antoine Griezmann in the process, according to Diario GOL. Doing so is going to be a big risk that the Blaugrana are taking only to flatter their captain who may not even be at the club some years later.

Like many other clubs, Barca will go into a recession once football resumes as a result of the losses incurred during the suspension of matches lately. Hence, bringing in both, Lautaro Martinez and Neymar wouldn’t be something that’s on the cards as both the players will require big spending in addition to a lucrative salary cheque. Neymar’s value is thought to be around 200 million euros whereas Martinez is valued at 110 million with Inter Milan demanding all cash.

Neymar’s arrival to the Camp Nou would mean that the club’s finances are majorly drained behind what could be another world-record transfer involving the Brazilian ace. That said, Griezmann will probably not bring them much of cash and as things stand with Luis Suarez nursing an injury and slowing down, the France international remains Barca’s only strike option.
