Paris Saint-Germain’s full-back might be on his way to Barcelona next season as a free transfer

The president of Barcelona Josep Maria Bartomeu has promised the club and it’s players that he and his sports management team will carry out a major revamp next season in order to compete for the Champions League once again.

More from Everything Barca

The club has already considered selling some of their players, Samuel Umtiti, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and their new signing Junior Firpo might be asked to leave the Camp Nou next season.

So far there has been no update about Ousmane Dembele as most top clubs would not the player due to his history of injuries along with the salary he demands. The same follows for Philippe Coutinho, Bayern Munich do not consider to pay the 80 million clause for the Brazilian either, which means that the Catalan club would have to find another club for their lucrative flop signing.

Under Ernesto Valverde, Barcelona signed a Junior Firpo from Real Betis who was once a long-term target of Real Madrid. The former Betico player has struggled to find his form that he once had under Quique Setien at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

The Catalan board believed that the player would finally find his feet after their announced Quique Setien as the replacement of Ernesto Valverde who was sacked mid-season. Unfortunately, neither under Setien or Valverde has Firpo managed to perform at the level that is demanded.

It all boils down to the management of the club to either keep the veteran Spanish full-back Jordi Alba or keep the undisciplined Junior Firpo next season. Eldesmarquee claims that Barcelona plans on snatching Layvin Kurzawa for free from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old French fullback’s contract runs out this year with the Parisian club and this could be the perfect opportunity for Barca to seize as they could sign him for free. However, it will not be an easy task since multiple players demand the fullback.
