Barcelona has considered shortlisting a midfielder from Valencia against Lionel Messi’s opinion.

Eric Abidal was given the green light by the Barcelona president to shortlist a promising French talent from the Mestalla Stadium to add physicality in the Barca midfield.

Don Balon claims that the Catalan board has considered the signing of Geoffrey Kondogbia from Valencia, the player’s physical stature and strong physical abilities can help the midfield of Barca in winning duels. The Los Ches player has been tipped as the next Yaya Toure by the board of Barcelona.

At the Mestalla Stadium, they have no intentions in selling their French midfielder and they are well aware that Barcelona is short on funds after they could not pay the transfer fee for Rodrigo Moreno in the winter transfer market.

Barcelona has devised a foolish plan to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia by offering or selling their young promising talents such as Carles Alena, Ansu Fati or Riqui Puig to lower the transfer fee of the French midfielder.

There seems to be a sense of disagreement in the Barca squad regarding the possible transfer of Geoffrey Kondogbia from Valencia and Lionel Messi is one of the players who are completely against the move, as he has dubbed the move to be unnecessary.

The captain of the Catalan squad believes that Ivan Rakitic or Arturo Vidal can provide the same physicality in the midfield battle and can also help in building possession a lot better than the French Los Ches player.

Tottenham’s new head coach Jose Mourinho has shown great interest in securing the services of the Valencia player and the former Real Madrid manager is prepared to offer Tanguy N’dombele or Erik Lamela in exchange for Kondogbia.

If Jose Mourinho does offer Tanguy N’dombele in the swap deal then Barcelona has lost out on another player that they wanted to sign.
