Manchester City forward will be Barcelona’s best Neymar alternative

Barcelona should opt to sign English winger if they are unable to sign Neymar Jr. in the upcoming transfer window.

Raheem Sterling has been a crucial player for Manchester City in the last two seasons helping them win the Premier League twice between 2017 and 2019. Under Pep Guardiola, the winger has developed into an exceptional player who has shown signs to mature into one of the best playmakers in the world. Barcelona should opt to sign the Englishman if they are unable to close their deal with the Brazilian superstar.

The 25-year-old England international is one of the fastest players in the world of football. Raheem Sterling has great versatility and possesses the capability to play on both the right and left flanks of the pitch. The winger’s passing and crossing techniques are exquisite and would support Barcelona’s style of play. Raheem Sterling’s incredible work rate will help ease off the pressure on Barca’s defence which has been shaky this season. Sterling is extremely skilful and often finds himself in great goal-scoring opportunities which will help fill the void of injured and ageing Luis Suarez.

Sterling might be tempted to try his luck in another league after winning practically everything possible in England. Till now the former Liverpool man hasn’t hinted that he would like to leave Manchester City but his decision might be influenced if the Premier League’s defending champions are banned from playing Champions League football over the next two seasons.

The Spanish giants are edged to sign Neymar Jr. over the summer transfer window. The Brazilian maestro left Barcelona in 2017 and joined Paris Saint-Germain. Despite being in the form of his life scoring 13 goals and providing 6 assists in 15 games this season Neymar is keen to leave Paris and join Messi and Suarez to re-form with the MSN in the Camp Nou. Even though both Baca and Neymar want this transfer, it might not go through as it is turning out to be an extremely expensive proposition.
