Barcelona have been the subject of another demand of Lionel Messi, who is always willing to make the best recommendations to his club.
Barcelona and their defensive problems have been documented very well this season. The Catalans have conceded cheap goals and have shipped in 31 goals in La Liga so far. Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet have done a decent job, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been absolutely amazing as well. However, both full-backs are problems.

Nelson Semedo is often caught out of his position as he drifts far forward, while Sergi Roberto is not great defensively. A right back’s signing is important but there is still trust in Semedo to improve given that he is 26. Jordi Alba though is no more the player he once was and cannot keep running up an down the flank as back in the day.
Alba’s replacement in Junior Firpo has given the Blaugrana enough headaches and has proven that he was a rather useless signing. Firpo has not done great at the Camp Nou and his departure in the summer looks imminent. Don Balon has claimed that Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to bring in Nicolas Tagliafico in the summer.
Nicolas Tagliafico is 27 years old and at the prime of his career and despite not playing in one of the world’s best leagues, he is among the best in the world for his position. Ajax Amsterdam value their left back highly and won’t let him go easily, but the Argentina international is thought to be worth 30 million euros by the transfer experts.
Tagliafico would be a stunning signing for Barca and the ideal successor to Jordi Alba, who has started to have hinderances due to injuries as he nears the end of his career. Defensively, the former Independiente star is solid but gives a great deal of support going forward as well, something that will really benefit the Camp Nou outlet.
Do you think Junior Firpo must be sold without having enough chances to prove himself?
