The two-footed French attacker signed a five-year contract with the Blaugrana and his release clause was set at 400 million euros. Ever since his debut, the French international has only managed to disappoint the club and its officials because of his poor lifestyle.
Quique Setien insists that the board must give the former Borussia Dortmund attacker one more opportunity and the Cantabrian believes that he could help Dembele find his old form. However, the board is fed up with the player and they cannot wait to get rid of their worst ever signing.
In fact, the board regrets having not sold the French international during the summer of 2019-20 because there were still several suitors in line who were willing to sign the player. Currently, almost all the clubs that showed interest in the young talent have now shown little to no interest at all because of his poor hedonistic lifestyle.
Borussia Dortmund is probably having the last laugh at Barcelona as they cannot believe that they managed to sell a 20-year old for 150 million euros. So far Ousmane Dembele’s career at the Camp Nou has been nothing short of a disappointment, the 22-year-old barely contributes to anything on the field and is mostly involved in controversies off-field.
Apart from a few moments of magic that the player has shown since he signed in 2017, the former Bundesliga forward has not shown any reminiscence of the ambidextrous player he once was at the Signal Iduna Park.
His poor lifestyle which includes an excessive amount of hours gaming, parties, nightclubs, and missing training frequently has been the major reason behind his constant soft tissue injuries since it is quite rare for 22-year-old to get injured so often.
Don Balon claims that Barcelona has received a new light of hope to get rid of their worst signing ever, as Chelsea and Arsenal have shown interest in the last few months to sign the inconsistent player.
The French International prefers signing for the Blues instead who have offered 75 million euros for the player. That is exactly half the price that Barca paid 3 years ago to Dortmund.
Should Barcelona let Dembele go for exactly half for what they paid?
