Barcelona are considering Ivan Rakitic’s inclusion in a swap deal in order to lure Diego Carlos away from Sevilla.
According to the Don Balon, The 32-year-old Croatia international is desperate for a move away from Camp Nou. Despite maintaining great fitness and being in respectable form, the midfielder has found himself on the bench most of this season.
Quique Setien and the management of Barca haven’t shown any interest to resolve his issues or portrayed any signs of including Rakitic in their future squads. Rakitic’s agent has been negotiating his transfer with Atletico Madrid and Sevilla as the playmaker wants to spent the last few years of his career in the La Liga.
The Spanish giants have a terrible defensive record this season conceding 31 goals in 27 league games. Adding to their misery, Samuel Umtiti and Marc-Andre ter Stegen could leave the club in the upcoming transfer window which will create a big void which the club will find challenging to fill.
Barcelona are in a desperate need to refortify their backline and are hopeful of landing Diego Carlos by sending Ivan Rakitic to his former side.
