As optimistic Barcelona fans are that Neymar or Lautaro Martinez would be unveiled as Blaugrana next season at the Camp Nou, it seems highly unlikely that either of the pair would sign for the club given the current circumstances they face.
The Catalan club desperately needs to reinforce their forward line as they cannot rely on Ousmane Dembele who spends more time recovering rather than playing nor can the club rely on Luis Suarez completely for the full season as the veteran striker is now 33 years old. Although Martin Braithwaite has shown potential, it would be silly to consider the Danish international to lead the frontline for a full season.
The Lautaro Martinez operation seems to be a little too complicated for the Catalan club to pull off. For the club to afford the 111 million euro release clause for the Argentine forward, Bartomeu would have to sell three first-team players in order to fund the entire operation. The entire Lautaro Martinez operation, for now, seems to be a risky project.
Don Balon claims that given the current situation, Barcelona has considered approaching Alexander Isak, the player who scored a brace to knock Real Madrid out of the Copa del Rey.
Luis Suarez has stepped up to shown his support for the signing of the 20-year-old Swede, the former Liverpool striker considers the Swedish International to be an ideal signing to build a team for the future given the player’s low market value. Real Sociedad demand 50 million euros for their talismanic Swedish forward.
Barcelona could face competition from Real Madrid who has also shown interest in the forward. The Los Blancos plan on letting Martin Odegaard stay a season or more longer at Real Sociedad so that they can snatch Alexander Isak.
The 20-year-old has already adapted well to the Spanish league and is prepared to make a name for himself at a big club. Could Barca be the club for the Swede?
