Manchester City’s best winger and an in-demand European player has offered himself to two of Spain’s biggest clubs- Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are expected to rebuild during the summer as they look to recover from their inconsistent forms which they have encountered this season. Lautaro Martinez and Fabian Ruiz are mutual targets between the two Spanish giants, but they are looking to pursue other big transfers as well such as those of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Football’s suspension due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has meant that the La Liga giants lose out on major chunks of revenue and thus, they may not be able to complete their desired transfers. As for Barca, they would be unable to land Lautaro Martinez and Neymar at the same time, whereas Real Madrid must wait until 2021 for Kylian Mbappe.
Don Balon has claimed that Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has offered himself to both the Spanish clubs as he looks for a new club. From the end of 2018/19, the Germany international’s minutes started to reduce as Pep Guardiola gave preference to Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling down the flanks to Sane’s dejection.
Leroy Sane was tipped to complete a move to Bayern Munich for 100 million euros in August last year but a season-ending injury in the FA Community Shield versus Liverpool spelt the end of that transfer, at least for one whole year. He is back to being fit, but the postponement of football has seen him rehabilitate for longer than expected.
Manchester City have been informed by the player’s representatives that the former Schalke winger would not be renewing his contract at the Etihad Stadium. Sane’s current deal expires in June 2021, which means the defending Premier League champions must get rid of him this summer or risk losing him for free in the next.
Real Madrid would probably not be interested in signing the player given that their options on the left wing are plenty. Vinicius Junior is the emerging star in Zinedine Zidane’s roster, whereas Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio can also be employed on the left wing. Such depth in one position is already giving the boss a selection headache so Sane wouldn’t be brought.
On the flipside, the Blaugrana will be at a big win if they manage to sign Sane. He will probably cost them half of what Neymar will, both, in terms of transfer fee and salaries, plus, he promises a big number of goals and assists. Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho have all failed to deliver there and Leroy Sane may take advantage of his chances.
Do you think Leroy Sane would be a signing as good as Neymar given that he is cheaper and three years younger?
