Barcelona’s recent signing Antoine Griezmann has been deemed as an untouchable figure at the club after he has successfully managed to gain Lionel Messi’s confidence.

Lionel Messi is regarded as the dictator of Barcelona and his opinion is more often than not thought to be correct. The club captain is somewhat regarded as a board member and a footballer, as the Argentine actively participates with the club on off-field matters as well.

The Barca captain is consulted for all matters on and off the field, however, the final decision does not always go in the Argentine’s way. At the start of the season of 2019/20, Leo Messi had demanded the return of _Neymar_ from Paris Saint-Germain, the board considered opted to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid instead.

The signing of Antoine Griezmann and Junior Firpo was not something the number 10 demanded, however, Don Balon claims that the 2018 World Cup winner has managed to finally win Lionel Messi’s heart.

Earlier, Leo Messi wanted a direct swap deal including Antoine Griezmann for Neymar Junior from PSG, however, the captain has asked the board not to transfer the French forward under any circumstances.

Unfortunately, Junior Firpo, Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti have not received any sort of help from Messi and it seems that these players might be sold anytime soon.

Leo Messi hopes that the forward line next season would include Neymar, Suarez, Antoine Griezmann and himself.

Has Lionel Messi done the right thing by asking the board not to sell Antoine Griezmann?
