Barcelona has plans to reinvent their midfield over the summer transfer window. The Spanish giants have hinted that they are willing to sell Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal and have been negotiating offers for them. Finding younger replacements who can operate at the same level as these experienced players is going to be a difficult task for the Spanish giants.
Thomas Partey is one such player that could ease into Barca’s team. The Ghana international has grown into an outstanding defensive-minded player who has the ability to perform on a consistent basis for his side. His recent form in the La Liga and the Champions League has put him on the radar of many Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool who are trying to sign him in the upcoming transfer window. According to The Sun, The Gunners have offered Atletico Madrid their ace striker Alexandre Lacazette in order to bring Partey to the Emirates Stadium in the upcoming transfer window.
The 26-year-old defensive midfielder feels dejected upon contributing relentlessly towards Diego Simeone‘s side and still being without much silverware in his trophy cabinet. Partey must not opt to join Arsenal because he wouldn’t win much in north London anyway and therefore a move to Barcelona would be a great situation given that he can replace Sergio Busquets.
Partey has a current value of around 50 million euros. Do you think Barca should try and sign him over the summer?
