Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is furious with the club’s management for most-likely losing out on a grand signing who could be a good back-up.
Barcelona are expected to be in the transfer market for the second year on the trot. Jordi Alba needs a worthy enough replacement who can contribute offensively as well as defensively but Junior Firpo has miserably failed in this regard. His poor attitude and off-field antiques have outrivalled his skill and he is not carrying a good image at the club.

Lionel Messi is one of the unhappy players at Barca as are many other seniors over the former Real Betis left-back’s commitment to the club. Having said that, the player’s agent has said that he will not consider offers to leave in the summer but for a player in the maturing stages of his career, it is imperative to play more often than he is at the moment.
Don Balon has claimed that Messi is asking for another left-back’s signing and someone who can genuinely contribute in all departments. Nicolas Tagliafico was his prime suggestion but it is going to be difficult for the Blaugrana to splash cash on signings in the summer and more so with Lautaro Martinez and Neymar on their radar.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa is a free agent in the upcoming summer and was on the Catalans’ wish-list primarily because they wouldn’t have to pay a transfer fee and could lure the player into signing a contract with an average wage. However, it seems like Barcelona have missed out on their man and Messi is furious for the board’s lax.
Arsenal and Chelsea have vested interest in the Frenchman now and as things stand, he may opt to sign for one of the Londoners. The north Londoners have not seen much good in Sead Kolasinac while Kieran Tierney is suffering fitness issues. On the other hand, the Blues will mostly sell Marcos Alonso, so Kurzawa would be first-choice ahead of Emerson Palmieri at the club.
Quique Setien is now keeping close tabs on two Bundesliga left backs in Angelino and Raphael Guerreiro. The former is currently enjoying a very productive loan spell at RB Leipzig, while the Portugal international is helping Borussia Dortmund in their quest for the Bundesliga title. Neither of the signings may be cheap, but the players will offer a great amount.
Who do you think is Barcelona’s best option at left-back from those available?
