Antoine Griezmann finally opens up to the public regarding the much-awaited confirmation about his future in Barcelona.

Xavi Hernandez in his recent interview stated that if he would have to be the manager of Barcelona, he would only sign the contract if the board promised him a natural winger like Jadon Sancho or Serge Gnabry.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona has lacked a natural winger since Neymar’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee. Ousmane Dembele was signed from Borussia Dortmund as a replacement, however, the talented French international has barely made a major contribution given his price tag due to the several injuries he has incurred since he signed for the Catalan club.

Lionel Messi and other heavyweights at the club demanded the board to sign Neymar once again at the start of the 2019-20 season. However, Josep Maria Bartomeu and his team shocked everyone after they announced the controversial signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

Barca was in need of a winger and not another natural striker and although the former Atletico Madrid man can be deployed on either side of the wing, it is simply underutilizing his potential.

Antoine Griezmann is also one for the theatrics, the player had documented an entire series that he would continue at Atletico Madrid. However, when Barca triggered his release clause, the French international had packed his bags for a move to the Catalan city.

So far in the season the shy French forward has not had a major contribution that was expected from him and several fans thought that the player would leave as he seems unsettled. However, Don Balon claims that Antoine Griezmann has finally spoken about his future at Barcelona and that he would like to continue at the club till his contract runs out.

The former Atletico Madrid man’s recent statement would nullify the possibility of signing Lautaro Martinez and Neymar Junior in the upcoming summer transfer market of the 2020-21 season.

The French international simply wants to succeed in Barcelona by winning all that there is to offer before his contract runs out.
